Gold Loaded Carbon Elution and Electrowinning System

Brief Description of Elution - Electrowinning
The eluant containing desorption chemicals flows from bottom to top through the stationary bed of loaded carbon in the elution column at the set temperature. The gold-cyanide complex ions adsorbed on the surface of the carbon are eluted into the solution and become eluate (pregnant solution). The eluate is overflowed from the top of the elution column through the screen and flows into the electrowinning cell which deposits the gold as cathode sludge on a series of cathodes.

Sorts
Atmospheric Zadra Stripping Unit: The eluant strips the gold from the loaded carbon below the boiling point. The system operates at a proper flow rate for longer time. The advantages are less safety requirements and low capital costs.
Pressurized Zadra Stripping Unit: The eluant is heated to 140°C to rapidly desorb gold off the loaded carbon. The eluate proceeds to electrowinning after heat exchange, cooling, and pressure reduction. The system generally completes the cycle within 8-12 hours.
Integrated Pressure Stripping (IPS) Unit: All equipment and pipelines of the elution - electrowinning unit operates are connected to form a closed system. The working temperature of the eluant is 150°C. The gold-cyanide complex becomes instable in the pressurized electrowinning cell which increases the electrowinning efficiency. The rapid stripping rate is obtained when the solution is returned back to the elution column because of the better desorption kinetics. The system completes the cycle within 6-10 hours. It has the most thermal efficient and the least energy consumption.

Features
Modular
HZE design and manufacture the elution system as various modular structures, skid-mounted and containerized. The whole unit is pre-assembled and commissioning is finished before delivery to reduce the customer's civil construction cost, shorten the plant construction period, quickly and accurately conduct on-site installation and commissioning for the turnkey project.
Each functional unit such as acid washing, desorption, electrowinning, carbon regeneration, cathode sludge collecting & dewatering can be designed and manufactured into a modular structure, allowing customers to select functional units according to their needs for new projects or improvement of existing projects.
In addition to providing standard products, HZE do customized design and manufacturing according to the customer's special requirements.

HZE provides a variety of system configuration options. Besides three system sorts of atmospheric Zadra stripping, pressurized Zadra stripping and integrated pressure stripping are provided for selection, HZE supply the below options:
Electrowinning cell type: vertical and horizontal.
Heating source options of the heaters: power, gas and fuel.
Control modes: manual, semi-automatic and automatic.
Customers choose any equipment or some functional units to meet the requirements, such as acid washing, desorption, electrowinning, carbon regeneration.
Multi-professional Fields Integrated
The engineers of different majors, mineral processing, metallurgy, mechanical, water supply and sewerage, instruments, automation, steel structures, and civil construction join together to design the entire system for one-stop services. Except compact arrangement and layout of all equipment, the steel structures for installation, pipelines, valves, instruments, sensors, actuators, controllers, etc. are all well combined to control processes automatically.
High Rate, Safe, and Low Energy Consumption
Each cycle duration of pressurized Zadra stripping or integrated pressure stripping is shortened to around 10 hours and it has high thermal efficiency. The system is equipped with multiple safety protection devices to avoid any accident caused by high-pressure or high-temperature. The leak-free pump is used to circulate solution to avoid environmental pollution and gold loss.
Low Chemical Consumption
The volume of hydrochloric acid for washing is controlled by the automatic system to avoid waste caused by excess. The main chemical of eluant is caustic soda and it is reused dozens of times to reduce cost.
Minimum Carbon Loss
The carbon transfer in various processes such as acid washing, desorption, carbon regeneration, and regenerated carbon to the adsorption section is done by water to avoid carbon scattering and wearing. The carbon regeneration kiln is separated to several heating stages to reduce the burning loss. The reactivated carbon is immediately quenched and sized to prevent unqualified carbon from returning to the adsorption section.
Simple Operation and Convenient Maintenance
In automatic control mode, various process parameters are set through HMI and the whole processes are controlled by PLC. The cathode material of the electrowinning cell is big diameter stainless steel wire mesh with large surface area instead of steel wool, carbon fiber or other materials, which has a long service life. the cathode sludge can be discharged our EW cell quickly by the special cathode flushing device. All screen mesh and filter screen are made of stainless steel wedge wires which will be not be replaces because of good wearing-resistance. and there is no need to replace wearing parts. The core heating components of the electric heater and the regeneration kiln are modules for easy replacement.
